The UBFC Alumni Mentoring, a mutual support system
within the community of Master's and PhD students and graduates!
Based on the values of sharing, mutual aid and benevolence, the UBFC Alumni Mentoring allows the connection between network users willing to share their experiences and knowledge, and thus aims to create links and encourage mutual aid between network members.
How to benefit from mentoring?
1- Create an account on UBFC Alumni according to your profile, complete it, indicate your location and your expectations... the platform will offer you mentor or mentee profiles according to your needs! Click here if you have difficulties creating your account.
IMPORTANT: We also advise you to indicate your interests and skills in your profile so that this information can be taken into account in the automatic recommendation of mentors or mentees. If you wish to meet people in person, we also advise you to fill in the desired meeting place.
2- Access the Mentoring module on UBFC Alumni
-> Either via the general menu at the top of the page, tab "Entraide
-> Or via the sidebar on the left of your screen, tab "Mentoring".
3- Sign up for mentoring
You can choose between two types of mentoring (you can also choose both) and register as a mentor and/or mentee.
- Mentoring: a long term pairing based on mutual aid.
The goal is to accompany or be accompanied on a long-term basis, usually between 3 and 12 months, with goals for the mentee. The mentee benefits from the experience and knowledge that a mentor can bring to him or her or the sharing of his or her skills.
- Meet & Share (flash mentoring): passing on advice or receiving help for a short period of time.
The mentee may have a specific request that the mentor can answer at the first meeting and the relationship does not need to last longer. This is express mentoring from one to a few hours but rarely more. It is used when a member has very specific needs.
4- Complete your mentoring preferences
Choose the subject(s) you wish to discuss and fill in the skills, sectors of activity, favorite cities, etc.
5- Matching proposal and connection
Once you have configured your parameters, the platform will make matching proposals! You can make or accept mentoring requests and get in touch with the mentor or mentee via chat and/or video, and even propose appointments.
